Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Tulsa Bone & Joint has installed a closed MRI. The MRI is housed in the same building where the patient has the orthopedic examination. MRI is a sophisticated diagnostic technique which produces high resolution images of the inside of the body without the use of x-rays. MRI uses a magnetic field and radio frequency waves to image bone and various soft tissues such as cartilage, ligaments and tendons.

E-SCAN

The E-Scan magnetic resonance imaging unit is designed specifically for imaging of the extremities, (knee, shoulder, lower leg, ankle foot, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow and a limited population of hips. The unique open magnet design is based on many years of advanced research and clinical feedback in the area of extremity imaging.  The scanner is an open style scanner which minimizes claustrophobia.

Bone Densitometry

Osteoporosis affects many of our patients and we regularly receive inquiries about the diagnosis and treatment of this debilitating disease.  Tulsa Bone and Joint uses equipment called a DEXA scanner to test for bone loss.  This is a quick and painless test that takes only minutes to complete.  The tests results are reviewed immediately following the scan, therefore, you and the densitometrist can determine what life-style changes or treatment measures should be taken to reduce your chance of bone loss and possible future fractures.  To schedule an appointment please call 918-392-1400.
